About me
Ashley Balaberda is a proud first-generation college graduate. She started off her academic career at Schoolcraft Community College, where she earned her Associate’s in Engineering. She then continued her education at Wayne State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
She began her career as an emissions calibration engineer at the Stellantis Chelsea Proving Grounds. As the battery world quickly grew at Stellantis, she pursued a career in Program Management for high voltage batteries. She has overseen battery programs both in current production and in development.
Outreach has always been a big part of her life. During her early years, she learned the importance of giving back from being a long-time Girl Scout. Over time she advanced to coaching competitive figure skating and participating as a coach in the United State Figure Skating Association’s Learn to Skate Program. In College, she was a mentor to students in the University Bound Freshman Focus program, which helped transition students from Community Colleges into University Bachelor’s Degree Programs. Once at University, she joined her University’s section of the Society of Women Engineer’s and held several positions on the board, including one full-term as the School’s Vice President.
Balaberda joined the Battery Workforce Challenge as a mentor representing Stellantis. She found great joy in being part of the program, and in January of 2025, she accepted the position as the Stellantis Program Manager of the Battery Workforce Challenge.
